How to Get Tidy Table Set: Level 12 and 40 Wood

The Tidy Table Set is a one-point technology at level 12 that adds two bare wooden tables — one round, one square — to the Furniture tab of your build menu. Tidy Table Set at a Glance

This is the smallest furniture technology in the early tree — two pieces for your point, where the level 5 living room set hands you six. What you are actually buying is the surface. Both tidy tables are pure Wood with nothing sitting on top of them, and that makes them the only tables in the early game you can decorate yourself. There is no parent technology to buy first, so your character level is the only gate. Neither piece draws power, neither needs a worker assigned, and neither can be broken back down, so the 40 Wood you spend is spent for good.

How to Unlock the Tidy Table Set

Reach character level 12, open the Palworld Technology Tree, and spend one normal point on the Tidy Table Set — both tables then live in your build menu permanently. The problem is the row it shares. Level 12 is the single busiest early row in the tree: clearing every normal technology on it costs 11 points, and that includes two of the most useful unlocks in the first twenty levels. Pelt Armor is the one to buy first at 2 points, because it is the armour that stops the Ice regions from killing you. Meat Cleaver at 2 points opens up butchering entirely. The Eikthyrdeer Saddle is the sleeper pick at 2 points, and it is directly relevant here — the same mount that hauls you around also multiplies the Wood you chop, which is the exact material this set needs.

Decoration should be last in that queue, but at one point the Tidy Table Set is tied for the cheapest thing on the row alongside the Faux Greenery Set and Tanzee's Assault Rifle. The Grappling Gun on this row is the odd one out — it is priced in Ancient Technology Points, so it never competes with the normal points you would spend here.

Both Tables and What Each One Costs

Both tables are a flat 20 Wood and nothing else, which makes this one of the very few build sets in the game with a single-material bill — you never have to go and find a second ingredient before you can place them. The round one is the better centrepiece because chairs read as facing inward around it, and it is the one to put in the middle of a room. The square one lines up flush against walls and tiles cleanly next to itself, so it is what you want for a long mess-hall run or a workbench-side surface. Build both: at 20 Wood each there is no reason to pick, and mixing shapes is what stops a base interior looking like a copy-paste job.

Tidy Tables vs the Original Wooden Tables

This is the part that confuses people: you already unlocked a round table and a square table at level 12's predecessor row, back at level 5, inside the Wooden Living Room Furniture Set. Those are the same two tables — with a place setting baked into the model. That is what the 5 Red Berries in their recipe pay for, and it is why you cannot get them to look empty no matter what you do. The tidy versions strip the props off and drop the berries from the recipe, so they cost 20 Wood flat instead of 20 Wood plus food. Ten Red Berries is not a fortune, but berries are also the food you are feeding your entire base at level 12, and the shops that stock them charge 50 Gold each — so the tidy pair is genuinely 500 Gold of berries cheaper than the originals if you were buying.

How to Farm the 40 Wood

There is no shortcut hunting for this one: not a single Pal in the game drops Wood when you beat it or catch it, so Wood comes off trees and nothing else. By level 12 the answer should already be a Logging Site in your base — it unlocks at technology level 7 for 2 points, costs 50 Wood, 20 Stone and 10 Paldium Fragment, and takes any Pal with Lumbering Lv. 1 or better. Forty Wood is a few minutes of one worker. If you would rather swing the axe, 4,654 tree nodes are mapped across the island, and the laziest option of all is gold: a Wandering Trader sells Wood at 12 Gold apiece, which puts both tables at 480 Gold.

Dinossom — Best Lumberjack You Can Actually Catch at Level 12

Dinossom is the highest Lumbering rank available to anyone at this stage of the game — Lumbering 3, where every other Pal in your level range caps at 2. It appears from level 10 upward, so it is legal prey the moment you can afford this technology, and it has 262 spawn points that are live both day and night, meaning you never have to wait for a clock to go get one. It also brings Planting 3 to the same slot, so one Dinossom covers your Logging Site and your Red Berries plantation, which is the other half of the level-5 tables' recipe.

Eikthyrdeer — Ride It, Then Chop Twice as Fast

Eikthyrdeer is Lumbering 2 at base, which is fine but not special. Its real value is Guardian of the Forest: while you ride it, your own logging yield goes up 220% at partner skill level 1 and all the way to 500% at level 5. Its saddle sits on this same level 12 row for 2 points, so if you are buying the table set anyway you are one row away from turning every tree you personally hit into two or three trees' worth of Wood. It spawns at 227 points, day and night, and its level band starts at 6 — you have almost certainly walked past a dozen of them already.

Tidy Table Set vs the Other Cheap Furniture Sets

Every decoration set between level 5 and level 14 costs exactly 1 technology point, so the only thing separating them is how many pieces you get and what the bill looks like. On raw piece count the Tidy Table Set is the weakest buy of the era — two pieces, where the level 5 living room set gives six and the Antique Storage Set gives five. On material sanity it is the best: 40 Wood, one ingredient, no detour. Compare that to the Antique Storage Set's 155 Wood, 23 Ingot and 7 Nail, or the Carpet Set demanding a Venom Gland and High Quality Pal Oil off specific Pals. Buy the cheap-and-simple ones first while you are point-starved, and save the storage sets for when your furnace is running.
