Reasons at about the level of a human child of five to seven, which makes for a fine companion. There are also more than a few records of one working out how to use a weapon and killing its owner.

How to Get Lifmunk
Lifmunk is Grass, so a Fire attacker takes it down fastest — and a Pal it resists will drag the fight long enough for it to heal or flee.
Wild Lifmunk spawn between level 1 and 14. That top end fights the sphere much harder, so start low and leave the tougher ones until you need duplicates.
Its capture rate is 0.9, which makes it stubborner than most: expect several spheres even at low health.

Where to Find Lifmunk
Lifmunk spawn locations in the wild — every marked spot is a known spawn area.
Most of them are around Sea Breeze Coast (28% of known spots), with smaller pockets near Small Cove and Isle of Murmurs Beach. They come in groups of up to 3, so plan sphere stock for more than one.
Dungeons Lifmunk Appears In
Besides its wild habitat, Lifmunk turns up inside 2 caverns, and takes the boss chamber in 2 of them. Caverns are the reliable option when the overworld roll is not going your way.
the boss chamber fight is level 10–13, and ordinary cavern spawns run level 6–9.
