How to Get Jolthog
Jolthog is Electric, so a Ground attacker takes it down fastest — and a Pal it resists will drag the fight long enough for it to heal or flee.
Wild Jolthog spawn between level 4 and 13. The higher end resists spheres noticeably harder, so it is worth hunting the low-level spawns for your first catch and saving the high ones for a condenser stack.
Its capture rate is 1.2, which makes it slightly more willing than most, and a mid-tier sphere on a weakened target normally does it.

Jolthog spawn locations in the wild — every marked spot is a known spawn area.
Nearly all of them sit around Small Settlement — 100% of the known spots. They come in groups of up to 3, so plan sphere stock for more than one.
Dungeons Jolthog Appears In
Besides its wild habitat, Jolthog turns up inside 2 caverns, and takes the boss chamber in 2 of them. Caverns are the reliable option when the overworld roll is not going your way.
the boss chamber fight is level 10–13, and ordinary cavern spawns run level 6–9.
