How to Get Tombat
Tombat is one of the Pals you can simply buy: a Pal merchant sells it at level 20–30, which skips the hunt when you want one at a known level. Show the merchants on the map →
Tombat is Dark, so a Dragon attacker takes it down fastest — and a Pal it resists will drag the fight long enough for it to heal or flee.
Wild Tombat spawn between level 10 and 45. That top end fights the sphere much harder, so start low and leave the tougher ones until you need duplicates.
Its capture rate is 1.0, which makes it dead average, which makes the back-strike bonus worth lining up before you throw.

Wild Tombat roam at level 10–45 out in the world — plan your spheres and party level around that before hunting one on the interactive map.
Where to Find Tombat
Tombat spawn locations in the wild — every marked spot is a known spawn area.
Most of them are around Islandhopper Coast (22.5% of known spots), with smaller pockets near Small Settlement and Sea Breeze Archipelago Church. They come in groups of up to 3, so plan sphere stock for more than one.
Dungeons Tombat Appears In
Besides its wild habitat, Tombat turns up inside 3 caverns, and takes the boss chamber in 3 of them. Caverns are the reliable option when the overworld roll is not going your way.
