How to Get Ragnahawk
Ragnahawk is one of the Pals you can simply buy: a Pal merchant sells it at level 35–40, which skips the hunt when you want one at a known level. Show the merchants on the map →
Ragnahawk is Fire, so a Water attacker takes it down fastest — and a Pal it resists will drag the fight long enough for it to heal or flee.
Wild Ragnahawk spawn between level 32 and 80. The higher end resists spheres noticeably harder, so it is worth hunting the low-level spawns for your first catch and saving the high ones for a condenser stack.
Its capture rate is 1.0, which makes it exactly average, so weaken it properly and throw from behind for the back-strike bonus.
WaterPlaying Ragnahawk Well
The element conversion cuts in both directions and is the thing worth planning around. Normal weapon fire is Neutral and has no matchup either way, so riding Ragnahawk hands you bonus damage against Ice and Grass targets that you would not otherwise get — and hands Water Pals a resistance to your gun that they would not otherwise have. Against anything aquatic you are better off dismounting and shooting on foot than staying in the saddle for the 20%.
Gobfin's Angry Shark buffs the identical stat — Ranged Attack on the trainer, 10/11/13/16/20% across its five partner skill levels — but it carries no saddle requirement and no riding condition, so it works from a party slot while Ragnahawk is the Pal you are sitting on. Stacking the two is the whole point of pairing them: the mount supplies mobility, the Fire conversion and its own 20%, and the Gobfins in the slots behind it add theirs on top without ever being deployed.
Flame Wing is a rider buff, and the game files split it into two separate effects. The first raises the rider's own Ranged Attack, on a ladder that reads 5% at partner skill level 1, then 7%, 10%, 14% and 20% at level 5 — so a condensed Ragnahawk is worth four times an uncondensed one to the person on its back. The second turns the rider's damage into the Fire element. Melee weapons take nothing from the first half, which makes assault rifles, handguns and bows the loadout this Pal is actually built to carry.
Both halves are gated on the Ragnahawk Saddle, and not just for the ride: the saddle is the item the partner skill checks for, so an unsaddled Ragnahawk in your party grants nothing at all. It also only pays out while you are mounted — dismount and the Ranged Attack bonus and the Fire conversion both drop, unlike party-slot partner skills that tick away in the background.

Where to Find Ragnahawk
Ragnahawk spawn locations in the wild — every marked spot is a known spawn area.
Most of them are around Mount Obsidian - Midpoint (40% of known spots), with smaller pockets near Mount Obsidian Trail. They come in groups of up to 3, so plan sphere stock for more than one.
Ragnahawk in Base Raids
Ragnahawk shows up in 2 raid groups that attack your base, at level 13–16 around the Mount Obsidian. Worth knowing before you settle there — build your defences around what actually turns up.
Dungeons Ragnahawk Appears In
Besides its wild habitat, Ragnahawk turns up inside one cavern, and takes the boss chamber in one of them. Caverns are the reliable option when the overworld roll is not going your way.
