How to Get Hangyu

Hangyu is Ground, so a Grass attacker takes it down fastest — and a Pal it resists will drag the fight long enough for it to heal or flee.

Wild Hangyu spawn between level 9 and 40. That top end fights the sphere much harder, so start low and leave the tougher ones until you need duplicates.

Its capture rate is 1.0, which makes it dead average, which makes the back-strike bonus worth lining up before you throw.

There is no fixed field alpha for this one — the boss-grade Hangyu only holds a cavern's final chamber, and the two caverns that can host it sit twenty levels apart. Ravine Grotto runs its bosses at Lv 17–19 behind Lv 12–15 filler; Cavern of the Dunes runs Lv 37–40 behind Lv 30–37. The payout is identical, so the desert trip buys you nothing you cannot get on the cheaper one.

The chamber draws one Pal from the cavern's boss roster — 16 candidates in Ravine Grotto, 15 in Cavern of the Dunes — so a boss Hangyu is something you run into while farming caverns, not something you can go and queue up. When it does come up, it hands over 2–3 Ancient Civilization Parts and 2–3 Precious Pelt, both guaranteed, in place of the Fiber and Wheat Seeds a wild one leaves.

Playing Hangyu Well

Flying Trapeze is a glider modifier rather than a combat or ride skill, and it stays dormant until two things are true: Hangyu's Gloves built at the Pal Gear Workbench, and Hangyu sitting in your active party. With both in place the equipped glider stops being a controlled fall — you can hold a slow climb in mid-glide, which stretches short hops between cliffs into full crossings and puts you on ledges no jump reaches.

The climb runs off the same stamina the glider already drains, and the drain eases as the partner skill's level rises, so a Hangyu you have condensed a few times holds altitude for longer than a freshly caught one. It also applies to whatever glider you have equipped, which means the skill is worth setting up early — a starter glider with Hangyu behind it travels further than a better glider with nothing behind it.
