Selyne is Dark / Neutral, so a Dark or Dragon attacker takes it down fastest — and a Pal it resists will drag the fight long enough for it to heal or flee.
Wild Selyne spawn between level 76 and 80. That top end fights the sphere much harder, so start low and leave the tougher ones until you need duplicates.
Its capture rate is 1.0, which makes it middle of the road: take the health bar down first and aim for its back.
