Using Precious Claw Well

No recipe, schematic or tech consumes Precious Claw, so there is no reason to hold a reserve of them - the entire point of the material is to be handed to a merchant for gold. Buying them from a shop only makes sense if you are hunting the item entry itself.

The biggest hauls are 6-8 claws a kill from Cryolinx and Selyne, both of which sit on fixed overworld alpha points you can loop after each respawn. Blazamut Ryu and Xenovader match that yield but have no field alpha location, so they are one-off fights rather than a farm route.

Before you can handle the late-game alphas, the low-level ones near the starting region still pay out: Cattiva, Rushoar, Jolthog and Tanzee each hand over 1-2 claws, and Gobfin, Gorirat and Maraith give 2-4.

Every known drop source is a boss encounter. Ordinary wild spawns of Gobfin, Loupmoon, Incineram and the rest never carry claws — only the alpha version of the species, whether that is the overworld field boss or the boss at the end of a dungeon.
