How to Get Katress Ignis
Katress Ignis is Dark / Fire, so a Dragon or Water attacker takes it down fastest — and a Pal it resists will drag the fight long enough for it to heal or flee.
Wild Katress Ignis spawn between level 40 and 52. That top end fights the sphere much harder, so start low and leave the tougher ones until you need duplicates.
Its capture rate is 1.0, which makes it middle of the road: take the health bar down first and aim for its back.
DragonWaterPlaying Katress Ignis Well
Blazing Black Magic shows up as a bare +1 on the rank ladder, and what that +1 buys is a Kindling level for every other Pal at the base while Katress Ignis is stationed there. It deliberately skips the holder, so its own rank 3 Kindling stays rank 3 — the payoff is entirely in the crew around it, promoting your rank 2 furnace and refinery workers to rank 3 without you catching better ones. It also does not stack, so a second Katress Ignis on the same base adds nothing; one covers the whole camp. And because the effect is tied to being at a base rather than in the party, this is a Pal you leave behind rather than carry — the plain Katress is the one whose skill wants a party slot.
Katress paired with Wixen is the one recipe in the game where the parents' genders decide which child you get. Load the farm with a female Katress and a male Wixen and the egg is a Katress Ignis; put the male Katress in with a female Wixen and the same two species hand you a Wixen Noct instead. Every other registered combination ignores gender completely — this pair and its mirror are the only two rows in the whole table that carry a gender condition — so it is the one time checking the symbols before you close the farm actually matters. Once you own one, two Katress Ignis breed true with no gender condition attached, which is the cheaper way to stack duplicates for condensing.
