Needs Palumba Saddle equipped — without that gear the skill does nothing. It unlocks at Technology level 35 for 3 points, so a Pal caught early can sit unusable for a while.

Its signature dance breaks the enemy's rhythm, and in turf battles whoever falls in sync with the other first is the loser. Courtship, boredom, combat — it all resolves into dance, which raises the question of what a dance aimed at a human is meant to convey.

How to Get Palumba

Palumba is one of the Pals you can simply buy: a Pal merchant sells it at level 42–48, which skips the hunt when you want one at a known level. Show the merchants on the map →

Palumba is Grass, so a Fire attacker takes it down fastest — and a Pal it resists will drag the fight long enough for it to heal or flee.

Wild Palumba spawn between level 32 and 50. A level 50 one resists far more than a level 32; catch cheap first, then farm the high spawns for condensing.

Its capture rate is 1.0, which makes it exactly average, so weaken it properly and throw from behind for the back-strike bonus.

Wild Palumba Level Range

Wild Palumba roam at level 32–50 out in the world — plan your spheres and party level around that before hunting one on the interactive map.

Where to Find Palumba

Palumba spawn locations in the wild — every marked spot is a known spawn area.

Most of them are around Seaward Passage (21.4% of known spots), with smaller pockets near Oasis Isle and Sealed Realm of Terraria. They come in groups of up to 3, so plan sphere stock for more than one.

Dungeons Palumba Appears In

Besides its wild habitat, Palumba turns up inside one cavern, and takes the boss chamber in one of them. Caverns are the reliable option when the overworld roll is not going your way.

the boss chamber fight is level 47–49, and ordinary cavern spawns run level 40–45.

Best Palumba Build

Palumba shines as a base worker. Build toward the passives below and the role does the rest. Catching, breeding and implants all supply them.
