How to Get Lyleen Noct

Lyleen Noct is Dark, so a Dragon attacker takes it down fastest — and a Pal it resists will drag the fight long enough for it to heal or flee.

Wild Lyleen Noct spawn between level 58 and 80. That top end fights the sphere much harder, so start low and leave the tougher ones until you need duplicates.

Its capture rate is 1.0, which makes it middle of the road: take the health bar down first and aim for its back.

Every one of the 42 wild spawn points sits in the World Tree, not on the Palpagos Islands, which is why the spawn map further down this page draws an empty island — follow the World Tree link beneath it instead. Attributing each point to its nearest fast-travel pin puts roughly half of them (20 of 42) around Shinespore Root and another 16 around Spore Cloister, with a small pocket of five near Lacrymal Shoal; the median spot is under 300 m from one of those three pins, so a lap between them covers almost the whole population. Day and night tables are identical here, so the time of day changes nothing about where to look.

The Lv 58 alpha is the exception — that one is on the main map, standing about 250 m northeast of the Secluded Cemetery fast travel point. It is a single fixed spawn rather than a roaming one, so it is the only Lyleen Noct you can walk to on a schedule, and the fast travel puts you close enough to reach it before your buffs run out.

Playing Lyleen Noct Well

The type panel says Dragon and the type panel is only half the story. Three of the nine skills — Icicle Cutter, Crystal Breath and the 450-power Blizzard Spike — are Ice, and Ice is precisely what punishes Dragon, so the obvious counter walks in and takes bonus damage from the heaviest thing in the rotation. The fix is to keep the element and drop the typing: a non-Dragon Pal carrying a Dragon egg move lands the same super-effective hits without offering Blizzard Spike a target it doubles against.

Six of its nine skills carry a minimum range as well as a maximum, and the table above only prints the maximum. Dark Ball, Icicle Cutter, Crystal Breath and Dark Laser all need 500 units of gap, and the two biggest hits — Nightmare Ball at 300 power and Blizzard Spike at 450 — need a full 1000. Crowding it therefore does the opposite of what the range figures suggest: inside 500 units its list collapses to Shadow Burst, Star Mine and Dark Whisp. Dark Whisp is still 600 power, so close range is not free, but it is one skill on a 30-second cooldown rather than a six-skill barrage.

Goddess of the Tranquil Light is a manual button, not a passive aura, and its numbers are worth knowing before you build a party around it: one press restores 85% of the Health of the player and every Pal in the party, rising to 87, 89, 91 and finally 95% as you condense duplicates to rank 5. Nothing gates it — there is no saddle or glove to unlock first, so it works from the moment you catch one. The cost is the cooldown: 300 seconds between presses, which makes it an emergency reset for a whole team rather than a sustain button you lean on.

Grass Lyleen has the same skill and it is not the same skill. Her ladder runs 80, 82, 84, 86 and 90%, five points lower at every single rank, so the Dark version is the strictly better party heal despite being the harder Pal to obtain. If you are carrying one of each for their work stats, the Noct is the one that belongs in the active party.
