Where to Find Lily's Spear
Lily's Spear is not something you find lying around — you craft it, and the recipe is below.
This is one of the few Legendary weapons with no luck attached to it at all. Nothing drops the schematic — no Pal, no chest pool, no tower clear — so the only route is the Medal Trader's counter, where the Legendary copy sits at a flat 600 Dog Coins and is the highest tier of the spear the stall carries. Four of those traders stand on the main map, and the price never moves, which makes the whole acquisition a question of how fast you can bank coins.
The fastest 600 comes out of the elemental sealed chests. In the World Tree and on Sunreach Isle they pay 20 to 30 coins and hit around nine openings in ten, so roughly 27 chests covers the schematic outright. The Forest versions are nearly guaranteed but only carry 10 to 15, which stretches the same total to about 48. Fishing is the backup and the World Tree water is the one worth casting in — junk hauls there run 22 to 26 coins on just over half the pulls, near 50 casts for the schematic, while the Feybreak and Sunreach waters pay 18 to 22 on four pulls in ten. Oil rig crates are the weakest of the reliable options at 15 to 20 a quarter of the time. On top of all that there are 128 loose coin pickups scattered across the main map, worth sweeping whenever a route passes one. Last piece of fine print: the schematic has to be on you at the bench — leave it in a base chest and the Legendary line never appears in the menu.
Using Lily's Spear Well
The same trader sells the Enhanced schematic for 840, and the two are priced at almost exactly the same rate — near 1.8 points of attack per coin either way — so the extra 240 buys nothing in efficiency and the decision is entirely about materials. This spear wants 60 Refined Ingot and 6 High Quality Wooden Board; the Enhanced one wants 60 Soralite Ingot, which means 120 Soralite Ore and 120 Quartz through an Ancient Blast Furnace, plus 40 boards instead of 6. Before Sunreach that is not a choice you have, and the 600-coin copy is the ceiling of what you can actually build.
Against the version you craft without a schematic, the attack gain is modest — 860 up to 1075, about a quarter more — but durability goes 500 to 2000. Four times the swings before the thing wears out is the real payoff, and it is what makes the coins worth spending on a melee weapon you intend to main rather than carry. Weigh that against what else the stall sells: 600 is also three work-suitability handbooks, or three stat fruits at 200 apiece, so buy the spear only if melee is genuinely part of your kit.
Schematics That Unlock Lily's Spear
The Technology tree hands you the plain Lily's Spear at level 55 for 3 Technology points, but nothing above that base version — the rarer builds are schematic-only. One schematic grants the recipe, and they are world loot — chests, boss Pals and the late-game pools — rather than anything you research. Higher-rarity copies of the same schematic raise the quality of what you end up crafting.
