Where to Find Flour

Flour is not something you find lying around — you craft it, and the recipe is below.

No merchant stocks Flour and nothing drops it, so the Mill is the only source: a Technology level 15 unlock costing 2 points plus 40 Stone, 10 Wooden Board and 10 Ingot. It is turned by a Watering worker rather than a Kindling one, and rank 1 is enough — Teafant, Fuack or Pengullet will keep it spinning — so a base built around fire and handiwork Pals can sit on a full wheat chest and mill nothing.

You can skip the farm entirely if you are in a hurry: Wheat is 70 Gold at village, caravan, dungeon and wandering shops, which puts a bought Flour at 210 Gold. Growing it is far cheaper — 3 Wheat Seeds cost 20 Gold each at the same shops and also drop from every Souffline, Lifmunk, Herbil and Hangyu you catch or kill, and one plot returns 10 Wheat per roughly 4.5 minute cycle. That is 3 Flour a harvest with one wheat left over, so plan plantations in pairs if a Cooking Pot is running.

Using Flour Well

Fishing is the second sink nobody plans for: every bait tier runs on flour, from 1 for Beginner Bait and Sweet Bait up to 3 for High Quality Bait, 4 for Deluxe Bait and 5 for Alluring Bait and Risky Bait. A serious fishing session burns as much wheat as a cake does, so keep the two budgets separate.

Do not eat it. Flour restores 3 hunger against the 18 you get from eating the same 3 Wheat raw, so it is only ever worth milling when something downstream is going to consume it.

Cakes are what actually drain the mill. Cake and Mushroom Cake take 5 each, Vegetable Cake takes 8, Extravagant Vegetable Cake takes 12 and Special Cake takes 20 — 60 Wheat, about seven plantation harvests, for a single Special Cake. Bank flour ahead of any breeding push instead of baking Bread or Pizza with the surplus, because those cost 1 apiece and will quietly eat a stack you needed for eggs.
