Advanced Bow
Weapon · WeaponBow4★A bow rebuilt around advanced technology. The arrows it sends downrange hit with enormous force.
Advanced Bow is 6th of 25 bows by attack, at 8,700 against the 24,000 of Mechanical Bow.
Nothing is crafted from it — it is an end product, so anything you make is meant to be used rather than banked as a component.
Details
At 25 weight each it eats carry capacity fast, so bring a mount or park a chest nearby. At 347,520 gold it is worth real money to a merchant.
Advanced Bow Crafting Recipe
Crafting it takes 176 materials across 4 types.
Where to Find Advanced Bow
The recipe is not on the Technology tree — it is locked behind a schematic you have to find first. The best single source is crates on the large oil rig at 1.3% per container, and the table below lists every tier and where each one drops.
The 1.25% badly undersells the oil rig, because that container slot cannot roll anything except a weapon schematic. Twelve entries fill it and every one is a schematic, belonging to only four weapons — this bow, the Laser Gatling Gun, the Plasma Cannon and the Multi Guided Missile Launcher — carved up exactly evenly at 25% apiece. So one roll in four hands you an Advanced Bow schematic of some grade: Schematic 2 at 14.75%, Schematic 3 at 9%, and the Legendary Schematic 4 at 1.25%. Schematic 1 is absent from the pool entirely, which means the rig never starts you at the bottom of the ladder. The same container has a separate slot that pays out 100 to 200 Advanced Arrows a fifth of the time, so the trip that arms the bow also feeds it.
Five pools carry the schematic at all, and once you count the fusion ladder the rig is not merely first, it is in a different class. Five copies fuse into one of the next grade, so a Legendary is worth 25 Schematic 2s, and pricing every route in Legendary-equivalents per roll gives 3.64% for a rig crate, 1.04% for a tier 5 treasure map dig, 0.79% for a Sakurajima sea base camp crate, 0.26% for a Feybreak fishing haul and 0.24% for an ordinary Feybreak chest. The rig beats digging three and a half times over and the sea base crates by better than four. If you want this bow, you go offshore.
Ignore raw hit rates when comparing the other routes, because they lie. Sakurajima sea base crates turn up an Advanced Bow schematic 30.85% of the time — a better headline than the rig's 25% — but 24.72 of those 30.85 points are Schematic 1, the cheapest rung, and the pool steps down almost exactly five times per grade, the same five-to-one the bench charges to fuse. That leaves the crates worth a fifth of what the rig is. Digs are the opposite shape: they skip Schematic 1, space the three grades they carry only two and a half times apart, and so land second on the list off a 5.8% hit rate. Tier 5 maps are easy enough to keep in supply — the boss stash closing an enemy camp on Sunreach Isle or a Sakurajima sea base camp always holds one, and top-grade chests on Sunreach Isle and Feybreak turn one up a fifth of the time — but the dig itself is still the consolation prize.
Using Advanced Bow Well
Every grade of this bow is built at the Weapon Assembly Line II, and so is the schematic fusion — a bench that costs 400 power, wants a single Handiwork Pal and unlocks at level 47. The Technology tree does not sell you the Advanced Bow until 57, for 3 points, so a schematic pulled early puts a Legendary in your hands a full ten levels before research would. Do not celebrate too soon: Advanced Arrow is the only ammunition it accepts and that unlocks at 57 as well, which leaves caravans at 1,110 gold a shot as your stopgap. The rig's own ammunition slot is the reason an early bow is usable at all. And the schematic has to be in your own pack when you approach the bench — one sitting in a base chest adds nothing to the menu.
On the rig, hold the Schematic 3s above everything else, including the Legendaries. The pool is the rare case that does not step down in fives: 14.75 to 9 is a drop of only about a third, then 9 to 1.25 falls off a cliff. Run that through the fuse ratio and Schematic 3 contributes 1.80 of the route's 3.64 Legendary-equivalents while direct Legendary pulls contribute just 1.25. Five Schematic 3s are a guaranteed Legendary and the rig gives them up seven times as often as the real thing, so the copies you would be tempted to scrap are where most of your progress actually lives. The Schematic 2s are worth keeping too, but at 0.59 they are the tail rather than the engine.
Queue the craft only once the line is staffed. The Legendary asks 32,000,000 work against 1,000,000 for the plain Advanced Bow, thirty-two times the labour, and nothing but the Handiwork ranks of the Pals you assign moves that number. What you get for it is 8,700 attack and 2,000 durability against the plain bow's 5,800 and 500 — a fifty percent damage bump and four times the lifespan. Those multipliers are the ordinary ones for a bow, but the base they scale is not: the 2,900 points of raw attack the Legendary adds are more than any other bow short of the Mechanical gains from being Legendary at all. Its 6 Ancient Civilization Parts sit between the Compound Bow's 4 and the Mechanical Bow's 9, and it is the last bow before the Mechanical, so this is the one worth spending parts on through the late fifties.
Every Tier of Advanced Bow
The same piece exists at 5 rarities, and the gap is not cosmetic: attack runs 5800 to 8700, a 1.5x swing. Which one you end up with is decided by the rarity of the schematic you built from, not by the recipe — so a legendary copy of this is worth more than the next item up built from a common one.
| Rarity | Item | Attack | Durability |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0★ | Advanced Bow | 5800 | 500 |
| 1★ | Advanced Bow | 6670 | 750 |
| 2★ | Advanced Bow | 7250 | 1000 |
| 3★ | Advanced Bow | 7830 | 1500 |
| 4★ | Advanced Bow (this one) | 8700 | 2000 |
Ammunition Advanced Bow Uses
Advanced Bow fires Advanced Arrow, and nothing else — running dry mid-fight is the usual way this weapon lets you down, so keep the recipe unlocked before you rely on it.

Schematics That Unlock Advanced Bow
The Technology tree hands you the plain Advanced Bow at level 57 for 3 Technology points, but nothing above that base version — the rarer builds are schematic-only. One schematic grants the recipe, and they are world loot — chests, boss Pals and the late-game pools — rather than anything you research. Higher-rarity copies of the same schematic raise the quality of what you end up crafting.
Fastest route. The fastest route is crates on the large oil rig, and the reason is the ladder rather than the top rung: that pool stocks every tier, so the common copies it hands you fuse upward into the one you want. Counting them, a top-tier Advanced Bow schematic works out at roughly 27 containers against the 80 the 4★ drop rate alone suggests. Spare low tiers are progress, not clutter. Schematics fuse five-to-one, so a lower tier with better odds can beat the top tier outright. Counts are containers of that source, not time.
| Schematic | Rarity | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| 4★ | Crates on the large oil rig, Treasure map digs (tier 5), Sakurajima sea base camp loot +2 more — best 1.3% (grade 5/6) |
Alternatives and Upgrades
Step up from here and you get Mechanical Bow at 20,000 attack; step down and it is Advanced Bow at 7,830. That gap is the honest measure of whether an upgrade is worth the materials right now.
