Feathered Hair Band

Armor · ArmorHead4

A headband trimmed with feathers. It shouldn't do much, yet it somehow wards off fatal head wounds.

Feathered Hair Band is 134th of 202 head pieces by defense, at 24 against the 650 of Ancient Helm.

Wearing it also carries the effect Max Carrying Capacity Lv. 1, which matters more than the raw numbers in the biomes that punish you for the wrong outfit.

This is where the crafting chain ends — nothing downstream consumes it, so a stockpile earns you nothing.

Feathered Hair Band Crafting Recipe

Fiber×20
What it really costs, once every sub-recipe is expanded
Work: 96000

Crafting it takes 25 materials across 3 types, and the bottleneck is almost always the 20× requirement — line that up first and the rest follows.

Where to Find Feathered Hair Band

The recipe is not on the Technology tree — it is locked behind a schematic you have to find first. The best single source is treasure map digs (tier 1) at 0.8% per container, and the table below lists every tier and where each one drops.

The best odds this schematic has anywhere are not in a container at all — Alpha Penking rolls it at 3%, four times what the best treasure map dig pays, so about 33 kills for a copy against roughly 130 digs. The alpha is a level 15 fight, five levels past the point the Technology tree hands you the plain hair band, so this is a Legendary you can start farming almost as soon as you own the base version rather than one you save for later. The trip funds the craft as well: every kill drops three to four Ancient Civilization Parts guaranteed and the recipe spends exactly one, so by the time the schematic finally lands you have banked around a hundred Parts for a piece that needs a single one.

The chest pools that carry this line sit in the earliest caverns on the map — Hillside Cavern and Isolated Island Cavern with enemies at level 5 to 10, Ravine Grotto at 12 to 15, and Mountain Stream Grotto at 20 to 23. Every grade of the schematic is in those pools, not just the top one, but the Legendary itself is around a twentieth of a percent per chest, so a cavern run is a place this turns up while you are clearing for keys, eggs and skill fruits, never a route you go there for.

Using Feathered Hair Band Well

Max Carrying Capacity Lv. 1 is worth exactly +50 to what you can haul, and no version of this helmet gives more — the plain craft, the Uncommon and the Legendary all carry the same Lv. 1. The band weighs 5 itself, so the net gain is 45 whichever one is on your head. What the Legendary schematic actually buys is staying power: 800 durability against 200 on the base craft, and 96 HP against 60. If you are wearing this for the weight, an early low-grade copy does the identical job and simply wears out sooner.

Nothing else you can put in the head slot carries weight. Every other Max Carrying Capacity source in the game is a body armour — the Lightweight line — or an accessory from the Ring of Freight family, and those occupy different slots, so the hair band adds to them instead of competing. That is the entire case for it, because on defence it sits at the bottom of the slot: 24 at Legendary, barely past the 20 a Village Shop Witch Hat gives you for 500 gold, and under a third of what the cosmetic hat families reach at their own top tier while weighing less than this does. Wear it for mining runs and base hauls, and put a real helmet back on before a tower.

Every Tier of Feathered Hair Band

The same piece exists at 5 rarities, and the gap is not cosmetic: defense runs 15 to 24, a 1.6x swing. Which one you end up with is decided by the rarity of the schematic you built from, not by the recipe — so a legendary copy of this is worth more than the next item up built from a common one.

Schematics That Unlock Feathered Hair Band

The Technology tree hands you the plain Feathered Hair Band at level 10 for 2 Technology points, but nothing above that base version — the rarer builds are schematic-only. One schematic grants the recipe, and they are world loot — chests, boss Pals and the late-game pools — rather than anything you research. Higher-rarity copies of the same schematic raise the quality of what you end up crafting.

Fastest route. Two routes to the top-tier Feathered Hair Band schematic, and they are not measured in the same thing: about 33 kills hunting it directly from penking (alpha), or roughly 173 containers farming the 3★ copy from treasure map digs (tier 1) and fusing five. Which is faster depends on how long one of each takes you. Schematics fuse five-to-one, so a lower tier with better odds can beat the top tier outright. Counts are containers of that source, not time.

Alternatives and Upgrades

Step up from here and you get Tricorne at 25 defense; step down and it is Feathered Hair Band at 22. How far apart those two sit tells you whether to spend now or keep what you have.
